It only takes a few moments at the end of each day. Stagnant water and food will grow and smell horrible by morning. If you drain your machine and clean it properly each night it will last longer and clean better.

Save time AND money by avoiding unnecessary service and repairs with a clean and efficient machine!

TIP 2 – Clean your combi oven…

It takes no time at all! While you are cleaning the rest of your premises, spray your liquid cleaner into your oven and run it on steam for 15 minutes. This will loosen baked on food and make it easier to clean. When cool, wipe it out. Done!

Better cooking efficiency!

TIP 3 – Check your chemical levels…

Check the level of the chemicals for your dishwasher and combi oven. By marking the bottle with a pen on regular intervals you can monitor if there is any problems with the chemical system and have it repaired before it causes too much damage. Simple!

Stop a problem before it occurs!

TIP 4 – Turn OFF the pilot lights…

It sounds so simple but can be overlooked at the end of a busy shift. Pilot lights use gas; if left on when the kitchen is closed they waste gas; they are an ignition source and are safest when turned off.

Reduce wasted resources!

TIP 5 – Check electrical appliances…

A quick check of electrical appliances at the end of the shift may save you a fire. Electrical salamanders and toasters are often forgotten about. It only takes a few minutes and it may save a lot of heartache.

Many people within the industry were shocked to hear that Orford Refrigeration Company, the last bastion of Australian manufactured refrigeration, based in Toowoomba, Queensland, went into administration just a few short months ago.

Among those who were most stunned were the 100+ workers who turned up for work as usual only to find the gates locked and to be told, third hand, that the company had ceased trading.  They had no inkling that their jobs were about to cease.

Now, out of the blue, comes the news that the Orford company has been resurrected and is, once more, alive and kicking.

Good news, it would seem; somebody has stepped in and bought the company; staff who were staring unemployment in the face would have their jobs back.  Wrong!  Dig beneath the surface and all is not as it first appears.

Yes, the company is back but they have moved their manufacturing base to Asia.  So, no opportunity of a return to work for those traumatised ex-employees.

Dig a little deeper and it transpires that, not only is the Orford company risen from the ashes but it is part owned and run by the same members of the Orford family who were responsible for its demise.

How can this be?  Surely, if a company goes into administration, everything related to that company also goes into administration: equipment, premises, intellectual property rights etc.

Not so, it seems.  In a move that smells, not a little, fishy, it appears that the canny Orford family members sold off the intellectual property rights some time before the company went bust.

A clever move or blatant skulduggery?  You tell me.

I know what those 100+ ex-employees have to say about the situation.

Building on the outstanding success of their Macarthur Central location, the Wong family are spreading the word that you don’t have to go to expensive, fancy restaurants to get the authentic taste of quality Chinese cooking.

With a third store already lined up for the revamped Winter Garden in Queen Street Mall in February, this is one brand to watch out for.
